Seeking Volunteers
The Shrewsbury Township Rent Leveling Board is seeking Volunteers to assist with the processing of complaints and concerns by tenants that currently lease residents within the Township.
Our Volunteers as members of the Rent Leveling Board are appointed and assist in mediation as to the remedy of issues and concerns between the Landlords and the Residents. These entails rent increases, repairs, upgrades needed, leases and day-to-day communications regarding the rental properties. These are handled pursuant to, in accordance with and to the extent allowed by the Shrewsbury Township Rent Control Ordinance.
The Rent Leveling Board meets on average once a month prior to the Shrewsbury Township Committee meeting. This takes place on the second Tuesday of every month.
All potential volunteers must live in Alfred Vail Mutual Association or Shrewsbury Woods as those residing in the Shrewsbury Arms Apartments would be deemed in conflict with the mediation process.

- Monday–Thursday, 10 AM – 1 PM (approx. 10–12 hours/week)
- Occasional evening hours once a month for Township meetings
- ✅ Dependable and organized
- ✅ Strong communication and customer service skills
- ✅ Ability to multitask effectively
- ✅ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- ✅ Experience with Edmunds software modules is a plus
- 📋 Process purchase orders (POs), accounts receivable/payable (AR/AP)
- 📞 Answer phones and distribute mail
- 🗄️ Filing and general office support
- Has solid computer literacy
- Is comfortable working independently in a small office setting
- Can adapt to occasional evening responsibilities
